Wilmington, NC | Fort Fisher Engagement | Shane + Jordan

As a Wilmington NC photographer...

you don’t have to ask me twice to head to Ft. Fisher State Park for an engagement shoot!

This location right next to the beach is the site of Civil War’s largest Amphibious (Land and Water) Battle. There’s a visitors building where you can learn about its history and the role it played in the South’s history.

A little information about Fort Fisher Historical Park

Not only does it have historical significance to North Carolina, it was the perfect location where I photographed Jordan and Shane. Needless to say, the entire Fort Fisher Engagement Session was an absolute dream session in every way. Angie, a mutual friend of ours tagged along as well! She was actually the ones to introduce us. Wilmington, NC is their (Jordan, Shane and Angies’) home and they knew that it’d be the perfect location for their portraits. They recently moved here after Shane proposed and have absolutely fallen in love with the NC coastal views and lifestyle.

We headed to the shore at around 5/6-ish just when the sun was about to set, which made the light especially golden and in my opinion is the best time, and the ocean waters a deep blue. It was the perfect golden hour time that would highlight anybody’s tan and be all around flattering.

“We love the beach and recently moved here since the proposal. It was the perfect location for our shoot” – Jordan.

I’m right there with you

Sunset Engagement Photos by Wilmington NC Wedding Photographer

For the first outfit, Jordan wore the most beautiful blue romper that she looked absolutely incredible in, and Shane opted(Jordan approved of course), which blended into the beach scenery perfectly! Toward the end of the first outfit we got a little adventurous and took some classic Wilmington NC photographs with the star couple wetting their feet in the ocean. The second outfit was more casual and relaxed with Jordan wearing a yellow romper and Shane a short sleeved shirt with some shorts.

Although they won’t be getting married in the city they call home. They’re still gearing for a beach wedding.

For their wedding day, these two love birds are heading to their destination wedding in Los Cabos, Mexico for their destination wedding. I have no doubts that it’s going to be a beautiful day full of sunshine, love and joy!
